A concussion or traumatic pain injury in simplest terms refers to any event that "rattles your skull". It occurs when your brain hits part of the inside of your skull due to an impact or other force.
You do not have to lose consciousness for it to be a concussion and some injuries may not make themselves known for several days afterward.
There are different symptoms of concussions and not everyone will exhibit the same ones. Common symptoms include:
Cognitive problems such as memory loss, trouble thinking, trouble concentrating;
Physical issues such as headaches, pain in the neck and/or shoulders, vision impairment, ringing in ears, dizziness, vomiting, loss of balance, weariness, lack of energy;
Emotional changes such as newly moody, suddenly easily angered/upset, sadness, depression, nervous or anxiousness, apathy/general loss of interest;
And Sleep pattern changes, either sleeping much more or much less than what was normal.
Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) using DC current to acupuncture points along the sutures (the seams) of the skull and to other viable acupuncture points has been shown to reduce stress, cortisol, pain, and other TBI symptoms in numerous individual and group case studies. MPS is actually more natural and safer for your body than a TENS unit due to the fact that it uses the same type of electricity your body creates in smaller (MICRO) applications.
MPS Concussion Therapy can safely be performed immediately after the injury is sustained to years later. It is performed in a minimum of three treatment sessions that will address the injury, activate the vagus nerve to reduce pain sensitivity, and treat every scar the client has sustained over his or her life to reduce tension in the fascia.
